Come to See Me at Oglala

Director: Jack Moseley

William Horn Cloud, an Oglala Lakota (Sioux) Indian, was a renowned traditional Lakota singer, historian, philosopher, and intellectual. He spent his entire life, 85 years, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. One day, in 1987, I had the good fortune to meet and interview him. This film was not able to be edited and completed until 2026.

DIRECTORS STATEMENT

This is a Sioux tribal elder’s story as told in an interview that is intercut with outdoor footage of the reservation, and other commentary. I used a 16 mm Bell & Howell 70-DR camera and reel-to-reel audiotapes. I shot on Kodak and Dupont black & white film stock on 100 foot reels.
