Directors Statement
As a Director, I am motivated to use cinema as a tool for change because it is accessible to the masses while also transcending borders, languages, and races. Cinema, like ideas, can spread and influence at an exponential rate. Cinema plays out on the big screen and the small ones that everyone carries in their hands. One small cinematic clip on a phone can go viral and within mere seconds connect people across the globe. Those millions of people can now unite and create change on the global scale. Moreover, I am a firm believer in using cinema to level the playing field as I desire to create a platform where all stories, traumas, and hopes can be shared equitably for good. I was specifically drawn to Direct and Produce this short film because it is meant to inspire the next generation of climate leaders and give honor and respect to those who have paved the way.
