Doc Shorts | 6mDirected by Scott E. Schimmel
Hui Malama Loko I’a highlights the work Native Hawaiian’s are doing to restore ancient loko i‘a (fishponds) across ka paeʻāina o Hawaiʻi (the Hawaiian archipelago). This film was made to support the work of KUA, an innovative, community-based initiative for protecting, restoring and caring for Hawaiʻi, and follows a hui (gathering) of loko i‘a practitioners from around the state as they malama (to care for) a loko i‘a of one of their members and vision in fellowship for a more equitable and sustainable future.
