From Shame to Shine

Director: Braden Dragomir

From Shame to Shine tells the story of Cher, a Mohawk and Ojibwe woman, who navigates the cycle of domestic violence and intergenerational trauma, to rediscover herself through creativity and spirituality. By channeling her journey into poetry, she not only rebuilds herself but also restores her family home in Six Nations of the Grand River, which ultimately becomes a symbol of her healing. Cher’s journey to empowerment becomes a rallying cry call for others to break free from shame and darkness, illuminating a path toward strength, resilience, and community.
