DIRECTORS STATEMENT

Handwoven is a portrait of Nikyle Begay – a Diné weaver, shepherd, and storyteller. Through Nikyle’s voice and work, the film explores what it means to carry forward tradition in a world that often overlooks it.

This piece is about more than craft; it’s about identity, culture, and the quiet strength required to preserve both. I’m honored Nikyle trusted us with their story, and I hope this film helps others see the beauty and meaning woven into every thread.
