Joanelle Romero Endowment Fund

To Celebrate and Preserve Native and Indigenous Filmmaking

To honor of the first Native filmmaker to be short-listed for an Academy Award, RNCI has created the Joanelle Romero Endowment. This endowment celebrates the legacy, impact, and contributions of Native and Indigenous filmmakers, in perpetuity.

This endowment supports Native and Indigenous programming and exhibitions at the Red Nation Celebration Institute and Red Nation Television Network, Red Nation International film Festival, as well as the acquisition and preservation of Native Asian and Indigenous-focused items in the RNCI Collection. The endowment celebrates the indelible legacy of Joanelle Romero, who has helped pave the way for greater Native and Indigenous representation in entertainment since 1977.

For more information on how to support the Joanelle Romero Endowment, as well as the benefits available to donors, please contact the Red Nation Celebration Institute Advancement team at media@rednation.com
