RNCI & Summit Entertainment

Red Nation Celebration Institute (RNCI) partnered with Summit Entertainment to present a special screening of The Twilight Saga: New Moon ahead of its official premiere and wide theatrical release-marking the first time the studio showcased a major franchise title at a film festival, the Red Nation International Film Festival (2009).

RNCI launched the first Red Is Green Carpet for Native representation. Founder Joanelle Romero stated, “We did not wait for Hollywood to invite us to the table-we created our own.” This milestone took place at Raleigh Studios as part of the groundbreaking partnership surrounding the pre-premiere event.

This historic collaboration marked a defining moment for RNCI and the entertainment industry, positioning Native and Indigenous presence at the forefront of a major studio franchise event.
